Springtime at the IMA March 30, 2010

What a perfect day we had yesterday with Aliya, Reece & Landon! What wonderful kids.

They were totally cooperative, really happy, and fun to be around. I couldn’t imagined a session going more smoothly!

Landon, the youngest, had a lot of model moves he brought out for …s it was really funny actually! Aliya, the oldest, is just the prettiest, sweetest, 2nd grader..and I think she enjoyed having a photo session today :-) Reece, the middle child, just did whatever we needed! They were all so wonderful!

Thanks Shannon for thinking of us for your session! I hope you enjoyed your day today! It was nice meeting you and your parents!

The rest will be up soon!

Brittany & Dustin Get Married March 28, 2010

Filed under: fort ben,holy cross lutheran,rathskellar,war memorial,wedding — Jennifer Cooney @ 2:00 pm

Yesterday we went to Holy Cross Lutheran Church to photograph Dustin & Brittany’s wedding. There is no doubt in my mind…they were one of the easiest couples to work with! They were so laid back and they trusted us in our job and just let us do our thing.

To watch the ceremony, you could really feel the love between the two of them. What I noticed were Brittany’s hands…he was holding Dustin’s hand and then she had her other hand on top just squeezing his hands. So much love.

The weather cooperated so we got to go outside and do a lot of fun photographs! Brittany’s twin sister Hillary was like our little accomplice getting them to do funny photo’s she had thought of. I don’t think they could say no to her…and neither could we! :-)

The reception was at the Rathskellar, downtown Indianapolis. I think that is such a great venue for a reception. I don’t think there were many dry eyes during the speeches…myself included. But what was especially heartwarming was to see Brittany and her dad, A.K.A Duke, dancing the father and daughter dance, and their mom was really emotional as well as her sister, Hillary. Duke reached out his arms to his wife she came in and the three of them danced and they reached out their arms to Hillary and she came up too. You could see what an incredibly tight knit family the 4 of them are. When I watched Hillary and Brittany together it made me want a sister :-)

Dustin & Brittany I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing Honeymoon. Thank you for letting us come and capture your special day with you! I wish you a lifetime of love…

Coral’s Beautiful Family… March 24, 2010

The minute I got to Coral’s house I felt very welcome by her precious little girl, Stella! She had a ton of energy and was very excited about everything that was going on. She reminded me of Maya with her wavy blond hair and infectious laugh.

I had a good time editing these photographs. I messed around with a couple of textures which I hadn’t really done before but I loved it on a few of these photographs.

Coral & Matt’s new baby will be coming into a house of love and a wonderful big sister!

Thank you for letting me come into your home to do your maternity photographs!

Enjoy the preview!

Sweet Baby Towne is One! March 20, 2010

We photographed Michelle, Brad, and Towne for the first time just over a year ago for her newborn photographs. It is always amazing to see how much a baby changes in the first year. Here is a photograph of her last year…

We went to Potters Bridge up in Noblesville for this session. It was our first time there…we had heard so much about it…and it was indeed a cool little place…mainly because of the bridge. The bridge itself offered some amazing light and shots so I was happy to get to do some photographs there. Otherwise I think the park was pretty basic. But one of the main things I took away from a recent photography conference we went to is seeing the light and being able to take a good photo…no matter where the location. I think sometimes we lose sight of what a beautiful shot is because we are looking too hard for a beautiful background.

This was our first session after our conference and I was excited to apply these things and do some cool post processing effects.

I think the photographs turned out absolutely perfect. Towne was such a sweet little girl…she let me hold her and would squeeze my cheeks in fear when Tommy played peak a boo with the reflector :-)

Brad knew just how to get Towne laughing and when she laughs, the Gene Simmons comes out in her. She would stick her tongue way out and just laugh and laugh…Adorable.

Michelle & Brad we really appreciate you guys! You have been wonderful clients of ours and we thank you for letting us do your photographs throughout this last year!

Enjoy your preview the rest will be up soon!

Kyle & Rebecca’s Wedding March 1, 2010

Filed under: Crowne Plaza, couples — Jennifer Cooney @ 9:29 am

On Friday I went out to Crowne Plaza by the old airport to shoot Becca & Kyle’s wedding.

They have this area in the lobby in front of a water fixture that they set up for ceremony’s. It is a cool spot with high ceilings and good angles.

They both looked great! I LOVED Rebecca’s dress. It looked wonderful on her and it is the kind of dress that lays really nice without wrinkling. I stayed for the ceremony and just a bit after the wedding. And so we were able to get some fun shots around the hotel…it was a bit too cold and dark to go outside unfortunately.

Thank you guys for having me come to shoot your wedding! I hope you are having a wonderful honeymoon!
