9 Month Old Brooklyn… January 28, 2010

Brooklyn is such a doll! I love this little baby. She is so friendly…she lets Tommy & I hold her and play with her and she is so smiley and fun. She could be my ticket to getting Tommy to have lots of babies :)

I adore her baby fat and dark curls and long eye lashes. She had a lot of cute new faces and has become much more verbal since we saw her last.

She loves books, and she loves her mom’s jewelry. So we put one of her favorite necklaces of her mom’s on her for a few fun pics!

I love how these turned out! I hope you guys enjoy the preview! Thanks for having us out to do them again!

Destination Wedding: Adam & Sara in St Lucia January 23, 2010

Filed under: St. Lucia, couples, destination, wedding — Jennifer Cooney @ 9:13 pm

It would only be assumed that a wedding in St. Lucia would be beautiful & fun. But those words seem like an understatement for the week that it turned out to be.

I think all of us made so many wonderful memories and made new friends. I felt very lucky that Adam & Sara included us on their destination wedding.

We stayed on the hotel Coco Palm and had many wonderful evenings at the pool and the beach nearby. Friends with locals were made and new foods discovered and many Pitons, and Jungle Juices consumed. And how could I forget the island favorite…the BBC (Bananas, Bailey’s, & Coconut).

The wedding was picture perfect.

They had the ceremony on Pigeon Island, right on the beach just a couple of hours before Sunset. There were sailboats in the background, beautiful palm trees lining the photo’s and lighting was amazing.

Tommy and Adam’s sister, Mary Beth, sang before and during the ceremony. For their vows they did private vows which I had never seen before. At first, I will be honest, I thought that I would want to hear what they wrote. I did not know what I thought about them being ‘private’. But I totally get it now. I would so do it this way myself. They took a little time for just the two of them; which is what the whole day is about and shared their personal words. Actions do speak louder then words which is why I think their wasn’t a dry eye during this special moment. I had to put my sunglasses on so the others couldn’t see what a mess I was during their vows…

After the ceremony we did a photo shoot around Pigeon Island which is full of ruins and amazing places to take photographs.

We then left for 1461 a Restaurant at Cotton Bay Villa’s. We ate like we did all meals while there, under a roof but no walls and the ocean breeze floating through the room. The food was amazing. The whole night went flawlessly.

Adam and all of his friends have a great love for Jorts. (Jean Shorts) After much googling I would say the world has a love for Jorts! So all the men went and put on their Jorts and came out to serenade Adam & Sara to the tune of the Macarena. It was hilarious.

I can’t imagine the impression that we all left on St. Lucia.

Adam & Sara your love is so apparent and true. We wish you a life of adventure, love and happiness!

Our St. Lucian Adventures

Filed under: miscellaneous — Jennifer Cooney @ 5:31 pm

Typically we just post our sessions and information but we figured to post a blog about our fun week we just returned from.

We got to St. Lucia last Thursday really late at night after a delay in San Juan. You might want to check out the video of Tommy playing his guitar at the airport that he posted on his Facebook page! On Friday, Tommy and I headed out to grab a bit of food.  We went to ‘The Lime’ which had really authentic island food. As we were sitting there, I noticed a man in his underwear. Boxer shorts would of been less surprising, but no, it was his ‘tighty whities.’ I was glad to have my telephoto lens on me. I decided after this trip I could be a wonderful paparazzi!

That night we all got in our taxis and headed out to the local “Jump Up” party. They have done this on the island for the last 27 years. In this neighborhood the families, restaurants, bars and individuals sell food on the streets they are making on the spot, drinks and hand made goods. I decided to get something that looked like a beef shish kabob. However when I bit into it the consistency was that of a kidney or liver which was surprising to me..so although it might of been good I fed it to the local dogs that were roaming the streets. It was a really fun place to people watch. They had a DJ playing music in the street and everyone was dancing having a great time.

The next day we left at 7:30 for the Catamaran that took all of us on a tour of the island. We stopped first at a waterfall. The waterfall was freezing but it was fun to get under it! After that we headed to the town of Soufriere which means Sulfur. The town has an active Volcano but it has not erupted in a long time. The crater has collapsed and we were standing in the middle of the volcano. The smell of the volcano was so strong that, I will admit I nearly got sick, it was a strong smell of rotten eggs.

After the volcano we headed to a Coco Bean Plantation. I never would of guessed that coco beans came from a large red fruit. The inside of this is really slimy and strange looking. They gave us a coco bean to suck the sliminess off it tasted just like sweet tarts. They called them ‘Jungle M&M’s.” Then we had a buffet at the restaurant there.

Then after lunch we headed to an area where the boat docked and we could get out and swim or snorkel.

Finally, we headed back to Rodney Bay. After getting a massage at the hotel I went out then with all the girls to dinner for Sara’s bachelorette party. The guys had a date with KFC for Adam’s bachelor party. They wore their Jorts (Jean Shorts) and I am sure had their photo’s taken with many numerous strangers and were the talk of the town.

Sunday was a fun day on the beach and then the rehearsal at the hotel.

Monday the beautiful wedding. (We’ll be posting the wedding blog later tonight)

On Tuesday, Tommy & I headed out to Castries to see something different and go to a big market place they have. Then we headed back to Rodney Bay. I went Parasailing…which I loved!

The week was fun and I hated to come back home!

Enjoy these few pics more to come later!

Gretchen & Herman…Downtown January 8, 2010

Filed under: arts garden, family, siblings — Jennifer Cooney @ 7:15 am

Our friends Tarrah & Andy brought the family up to the Arts Garden last weekend for us to get some pics.

We actually have never met Herman and so I was excited to get to meet him and see all of them.

It is hilarious because for what ever reason, Gretchen was always been scared of Tommy, and she must have pre-warned Herman too…because he was not down with him either.  Most kids love him too…so it makes it funnier. So when Tommy walked up to meet Herman he started crying right away too….I know it is sad but it is awfully funny too.

So Tommy hid during this session and read football news and I did the photographs. Gretchen was bribed with candy canes and kisses (hershey) and Mona the Monkey.

I loved the pics of her with candy cane all over her face :) So cute. She is super independent now and knows what she wants.

Towards the end of the session she was playing peek a boo with Herman and she would say Cockapoo!! Like a combo of cocka doodle doo and peek a boo..hahaha!

The good news as by the end of the session, when Tommy came back, he was playing with bopth of them and they had actually warmed up to him. Yay!

I hope you guys enjoy the preview! It was wonderful seeing you again.

P.S.

I love this first pic…I guess Herman is practicing proposing…hahahaha!

Vivianna – 6 months old @ Christmas! January 4, 2010

Vivianna is Tommy’s first niece. We saw her last when she was only a month old…so…needless to say, she has changed so much.

She has beautiful long eyelashes, super fun thick hair that has a mind of its own and I love that and big brown eyes. She loves her parents and it is precious how her eyes light up and she gets a huge smile every time she spots her mom or dad.

Her personality is forming and she is funny, and smiley and so smart!

We did her photo session at her grandma’s house (Tommy’s parents place in NY) as we were all there for the holidays.
I love the shots with the pearls and ornaments!

Enjoy your preview! I hope you love them.
