Russell & Liz find love at Kelsay Farms… September 9, 2010

Filed under: engagement — Jennifer Cooney @ 10:19 am

Liz works for the American Dairy Association of Indiana and Russell’s family owns a Dairy Farm. Liz had to head out to his farm for something work related I believe and there they met for the first time and the rest is history!

The photo’s inside next to the cows was the actual spot they first met. I didn’t know this at the time I just thought the lighting was beautiful :-)

Kelsay Farms has been in Russell’s family since 1837. Not only are they a dairy farm but they have a corn maze in the fall with a scavenger hunt…I think that is where I will be this fall! Can’t wait. They do tours as well! I loved it! I infact feel a need to live at a dairy farm now and do more photo sessions there!

Liz is naturally stunning and has this big, beautiful eyes. For a dude Russell was awesome! He was up for whatever I told him to do no matter how ridiculous it seemed. The session was so much fun!

I hope you guys enjoy your preview!

Chad & Meganita get married! September 8, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jennifer Cooney @ 1:35 pm

I wont bore all of you folks that don’t know Megan & Chad with a novel about their fabulous wedding weekend. But in short I had been waiting anxiously for this for a long, long time. This was my light at the end of the tunnel and I could wait to celebrate with the two of them. The wedding weekend exceeded all expectations.

They had their event at the Shakamak State Park a couple of hours away from Indy. They rented out an area of private cabins. Which consisted of maybe 12 Cabins that slept 22 people, A rec Hall, A mess hall and a lot of grassy area to play in. About half of us got there on Saturday to hang out and party and the rest came Sunday and stayed Sunday night.

Chad and Megan met at IU and have dated ever since. They have moved from Bloomington to the Grand Canyon, Arizona and back to here. When they went on a date in the beginning of their relationship Chad got Megan something out of one of those quarter machines and it was a ring (photo below) she said something to the affect of, “Awe does that mean we are getting married?” and almost 11 years later they did! Chad and Megan are really meant for one another they get one another’s sense of humor and make each other laugh all the time. They are total goofballs and I love that about them…so fyi some of these pics totally their idea :)

Megan’s bridal party consisted of a group of us girls that have been friends since Highschool some of us since middle school. We call ourselves the GP. Chad’s guys were from all college & highschool. Their good friend, Jimmy was the Rev for the ceremony he came all the way from Montana to do this for them. I know that meant a lot to them. And then one of their friends played Pink Floyd on guitar as she came down the isle. Hank & Taylor, their dogs were in the bridal party as well! Which are totally their babies so that only made sense.

Many of these photo’s are just candid pics of my friends and the whole weekend. But I wanted to share because it was such an amazing time! Top 10 material for sure! The photo of the names you see is from our GP notebooks we all kept during high school we would all write notes, stories, photo’s, drawings and pass them among the GP through our high school years…I think we have 6 GP notebooks…the drawing was Megan’s creation :) Did I mention this is the first time all 6 of us have been together since 1995!! Amazing!

The weather was so perfect you couldn’t asked for anything better!

Her family pitched in making about 8 different lasagna’s for the dinner, and Bev (MOG) made all the cake & cupcakes as well as some lasagnas. The cakes were out of this world! She is better then Martha Stewart no doubt…just check out the table she decorated!

Everything about the weekend was just how they would’ve wanted it. They didn’t conform to fit the standard idea of a wedding and I am so glad they didn’t. It was perfectly them and so much fun!

Megan I love you so much! Thanks for including me!
And Chad I didn’t include any pics from “that series”

FYI…I was in the wedding and so I didn’t obviously take pics of the bridal party of wedding and just did them on the side as something for myself and Meg. But I want to Thank Charlene for capturing the wedding for me so wonderfully at the last minute!

Isabella is 1! September 5, 2010

Filed under: babies, family, flying cupcake — Jennifer Cooney @ 3:14 pm

This little lady is always a little unsure about having her photo taken..but I think she is warming up to the notion.

We met at the Flying Cupcake to get you know the messy, funny shots of a kid destroying a cupcake…or not destroying it rather…She was totally on to us so she really wanted no part of it…I do think she secretly liked the icing but she’ll never tell.. :-)

The photo’s turned out adorable anyhow even if she didn’t eat any cake. She is the cutest little girl so how could they not…

I hope you guys enjoy the preview! She is so stinkin’ adorable!

Mike & Denee’s Baby Grace…

Denee contacted me and told me she stumbled across my website when searching for a photographer and she has her own “Baby Grace” she needed newborn photo’s taken of.

I went out to their apartment on Sunday to do these. This little girl is a doll! And so smiley and cooporative.

Both Mike & Denee are such a sweet couple and overjoyed to have their first baby. All of their family lives back in New York so they were hoping to head back there if they found jobs. So,as it turned out, just days before I did their photos, Mike was offered a teaching job back in New York and so they had to move within days and head back. But it is amazing sometimes how all the doors open at just the right time. I often feel like that about the people I meet in my life with my job.

You two have such a beautiful daughter! Thank you for having me come take Grace’s newborn photographs!

You’ll have to keep me posted with an updated pic of this cutie from New York!

Brian & Chelsea’s Wedding… August 31, 2010

Chelsea has to be one of the most laid back brides I have ever met. She was so easy to work with! I met her downtown at the Embassy Suites to get shots of her getting ready…then…about 6pm, we headed over to the State house where they were having their evening ceremony.

I love the State house…it is a beautiful building to shoot in. Lots of available light and beautiful fixtures.

They had a friend of theirs perform the ceremony so it was really personal to them.

After the ceremony we all went back to the Embassy Suites to celebrate.Chelsea was a beautiful bride with an amazing dress…A zip off dress! It was awesome…so after her formal dances at the reception she zipped that thing off into the hot cocktail dress for the rest of the night! I thought that was so cool!

Their group of friends were a lot of fun too!  I believe I can say with absolute sincerity that I took the craziest photo I have ever taken at their ceremony! That will not be posted on the blog haha….

You guys are so much fun! We enjoyed hanging out with you and your family and friends!

Enjoy your preview!

These two have grown up so much since I saw them last…only one year ago. They are running all over the place now and totally make one another laugh.

Both sets of grandparents were there so we got a few pics with each of them as well.

Thank you so much for coming out for your session with us! I really appreciate it and I hope you enjoy the preview!
